Treks 4 Tots February Vacation Camp
February 16-20 and February 23-27, 2015, 9am-3pm or 9am-12pm
Treks 4 Tots is an environmental day program for our youngest campers, ages 3 1/2-5. Trekkers may enroll in February Vacation Camp by the day or for the week, and attend either a half day (9am-12pm) or full day (9am-3pm) session. After-care is not available for Treks.
Daily Cost: $55 members, $60 non-members
Half-day Cost: $35 members, $40 non-members
Full Week Full-day Cost: $275 members, $300 non-members
Full Week Half-day Cost: $175 members, $200 non-members
Daily Themes
Now you see, now you don’t. Camouflage is an amazing adaptation that allows both predators and prey to remain hidden in their surroundings. We’ll learn how color and body shape helps animals hide, and watch our exhibit animals in action.
Many ocean creatures use venom as a weapon for survival. Come learn about jellies, anemones, sting rays, octopi, urchins, lionfish and more during this day of discovery. We’ll play a fun game of “Zap!” and make a cool creature craft!
Sea turtles are graceful swimmers, and unlike their land tortoise cousins, they’re speedy too! From interesting facts, to folklore from around the world and amazing migrations routes, come discover the world of sea turtles. Did you know sea turtle need our help now more than ever? Learn how volunteers are helping sea turtles.
Unlock the mysteries of the deep blue sea. Imagine you are a scientist exploring the deepest regions of the ocean. What amazing technology could you use to reach great depths, and what kind of life would you see down there? Come dive in to learning about submarines, ROV’s, SCUBA and deep sea creatures—some even glow in the dark!
Registration closes the Thursday before the camp session begins.
